For how smart you are vs how free masonic? Idk. They were game icons I was working on for Eudaemonia. I'm joking about the "free masonic" stat. I think that was supposed to represent "observation".
Never met him. He never said anything to me. His name was lost to time, and the file abbreviated to c-harsheet, so that's his name now.
Kind of an homage to Homestar Runner's "Teen Girl Squad".

"In my stone solemn head I chase the paradise Beyond the streets Where my eyes cannot reach I follow you Past the neon sign Red Valentino" -- Red Valentino, And Also the Trees
This was totally inspired by McKean's Gunslinger illustrations & Neil Gaiman illustration style that blew my mind.
Pretty sure this version was just a comp of a bunch of smooth Juxtapoz / ImagineFX goodness I'd recently seen & wanted to try out firsthand.
I'm calling this "Manga" style because I can't remember who I was looking at when finding aspirational manga references, and I know this doesn't resemble any of the usual suspects I'd be enticed by - Maki Murakami, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Alichino, David Mack, Frank Miller, Tatsuyuki Tanaka, Jinjo Ito...?
IRL, mostly I pass as sane and coherent, I think. But then I start making speech bubbles for the voices, and here we are. What else COULD they be saying, though? You know?
This was actually for a client. I guess I shouldn't sound so incredulous. They really liked it. I am using too many adverbs. Of course they did. I am legitimate. I am beginning to think what separates great artists from nobodies is how straight of a face you can keep. Look, I mean that. I don't think this is bad. I actually love it. It's very dear to my heart. I'm just never not surprised when someone else agrees. And I see a lot of art out there that's so bad, and people bought it, and people keep using it, and clearly they think that's okay, and I see 'real artists' selling stuff that's absolute nonsense, and other things that are just boring, and they seem to be making a living this way without necessarily being someone's niece or nephew, but. It's always funny to me when I make everyone into monkeys and the people involved don't mind. Takes a rare kind of good humor. I don't mean to roast the clients, but my conscious mind isn't ever doing this; it's my deranged id that takes over and makes art, so god knows what's going to come of it. It's a really unsafe process!!! :O Trying to turn weaponized auto-cartoons into someone's commercial asset is not a sure bet.
During undergrad, my employer busted in and asked me to crank out a promotional poster in a few hours, so I whipped this out.
Some of the titles I gave things in my 20s were autismo af. Real home school culture laid bear for all the internet to see. In some cases, those are still unapologetically the names. For some of us, rizz is a lifelong cultivation. But these names remain canonical for a pre-glow-up socially abysmal inner child.
This was a "Look, I can make that crap!" moment. Briefly, my soul was hollowed out, and there was only the directionless desperation of rapacity for commerce. This heinous bear was its face.
Headlight & tail light design is pretty badass so I spent a rainy day going really hard on creating vector concepts.

Because I was thinking, this is what I'd want to see if I was reading a math text book. It would be such a little pick me up. Just the slightest acknowledgement of our shared humanity.

Back in the day, I contributed to the illustrations for a math text book. Listen. I made an Adobe Illustrator vector bean brush, a tomato brush, a rice brush, and a lettuce brush for this project. Just in case you ever need those. You know who to call.

Back in the day, I contributed to the illustrations for a math text book. This berry juice went too hard for acceptance as the final product, because we were working from a style sheet so all the artists' illustrations would match up, but my heart still belongs to this maximalist juice box design.

This all came about after a discussion about "pain face". I thought it would be funny to draw pain face. But I only hurt myself with how horribly cursed the image was. As for the "flippin' sweet" Luyu decal - I was thinking about the inanity of 90s cartoon t-shirts and temporary tattoos with bizarre slogans.
