Crew @ the TV Studio
Fine times with the ol' crew.
We climbed to the top of Crater Lake in the snow to get B-roll for the TV station...
Unfortunately, no one told us they'd just had a severe blizzard and avalanche.
We had intended to drive to the top and get footage up there at the look out point, but all the roads were closed due to the avalanche.
Still, we'd driven several hours.
So we decided to scale the mountain in the snow, on the other side of the blizzard.
Initially, it seemed almost trivial aside from the miles of climbing, because there were still visible trails and we were dressed for the jaunt.
However, there were only clear trails for the first half mile or so, then they started to disappear completely, along with all signs, which had been swallowed by the blizzard.
The trails were completely snowed over. The only direction was up. You just had to orient by where the horizon seemed higher, which wasn't always as obvious as it sounds, given the snow drift situation.
Over top of every such ridge, which appeared to be a crest that would lead to the summit, there turned out to be an entirely new, similarly distant prospect for the summit, much, much higher up.
We made it.
Or so I am told.
Sometimes, on a slow day, we'd organize the costume room.
"We're making a calendar featuring the crew..."
"...not that kind of calendar."
It's not quite LA Gothic.
But also so much better.
